PWA SEO Audit

PWA SEO Audit

A free technical audit designed for Progressive Web Apps. We compare what your users see with what search engines render, crawl and index — then hand your team a prioritized list of changes with enough detail to implement.

What we test

Every check exists because it's a place we repeatedly find Progressive Web Apps losing search visibility.

Rendered output

What exists in the initial response, what appears only after JavaScript runs, and what never appears at all.

Crawl paths

Whether crawlers can reach each template through real links, and where the app shell blocks discovery.

Indexing state

Which URLs are indexed, which are discovered but not indexed, and what the pattern reveals about the build.

Routes and status codes

How client-side routes respond to a direct request, including missing pages that return 200 instead of 404.

Canonical signals

Duplicate, parameterized and app-shell URLs competing for the same content.

Service worker behavior

Whether cached or intercepted responses change what non-browser clients receive.

What you receive

  • Template-by-template rendering report
  • Crawl and indexing analysis for the whole app
  • Route and status-code findings for direct requests
  • Canonicalization and duplication map
  • Metadata and structured data verification
  • Prioritized fix list with impact and effort
  • Developer-ready specifications per issue
  • Validation plan for after deployment

Why a PWA needs its own audit

A conventional technical SEO audit starts from the assumption that page content arrives in the server response. In a Progressive Web App that assumption often fails: the response may be an app shell, the content may arrive later through JavaScript, the URL may be resolved entirely on the client, and the service worker may answer requests from cache.

Auditing a PWA means testing those layers directly rather than inferring from a crawl report. That is the difference between knowing a page isn't indexed and knowing exactly which part of the build is preventing it.

We look at the PWA first. The audit tells you what's wrong, what it would take to fix, and whether you want us to implement the changes.

We review the PWA before the call, so the first conversation is technical, not introductory.
